14 Jun 2008 - Boathouse use as film set.

This afternoon a film company under Prof. Desmond Bell  http://www.iash.ed.ac.uk/desmond.bell.html  used our boathouse for his new documentary drama based on the book "Children of the Dead End"  by the Irish navvy and author Patrick McGill.

A team of 15 arrived at the boathouse complete with a prepared lunch before filming their shots of the young couple in our rowing boat Gladhouse 8.

The film is expected to be finished by the end of the year and will be shown on BBC Scotland
